"Eating only mush every day for six weeks..."

Iguazu (Iggy) was only five weeks old when she arrived at the Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue. She came from a northern community with limited vet access for a pup.

One week later, she fractures her lower-left jaw, and the Doggy Dentist says she has to wear a muzzle for six weeks.😓

For a super curious pup who wants to put everything in her mouth, Iggy was gutted. Yet, she wasn’t gonna let this pull her down. She kept playing and cuddling with her foster family, enjoying every moment spent with them.

The real bummer? Eating only mush every day for six weeks was boooooring. As a result, she’s making up for the lost time by feasting on everything crunchy, devouring all the 🥕 she gets.

"No playing. No toys. And worst of all?"

Even though her last X-ray showed her jaw healed well, it also revealed she had a broken tooth in the 🦴. The verdict: surgery. Kickbacks? No playing. No toys. And worst of all? Until the surgery, she was unadoptable and incapable of finding her forever home.

But as always, Iggy showed more resilience than most of us. She remained strong and did what the docs said.👼

The TagsforHope Grant Program covered Iggy’s surgery along with recovery costs. She’s been recently adopted and can chew, play and run as much as she wants (a.k.a. a lot). Here’s a rare photo of her resting, right after her second intervention.😍

We wouldn’t have been able to help Iggy without your support. Thank you.❤️️
