Who Are Fish & Chips?
Fish and Chips, six-month-old sibling puppies, were abandoned at a gas station in Sheep Springs, New Mexico. This area, on the Navajo Nation, is home to many stray dogs struggling to survive.
A Good Samaritan brought them to Underdog Animal Rescue & Rehab, where they began receiving the urgent care they could not get on their own.
A FRAGILE BEGINNING
Life was not easy for these little pups. They were severely anemic, battling tick-borne illness, and suffering from a rare swelling condition in their paws and legs. Every day without treatment could have put their survival at risk. Thanks to your support, they were able to start proper medical care and begin a path toward a healthier future.

Specialized Care
The siblings were seen by veterinarians in Moab several times, but their condition required expert evaluation. In Colorado, a specialist diagnosed them with primary congenital lymphedema, a rare disorder affecting the lymphatic system.
With this clear diagnosis, the rescue team could design a targeted plan for their recovery.
Steps to Recovery
Fish and Chips began a routine that includes medication, compression wraps, acupuncture, and specialized dietary care. Slowly but surely, their strength and mobility returned.
Their playful personalities and wagging tails are proof that even a challenging start can lead to a brighter, joyful life.
