A Mission of Hope

When an overcrowded shelter in Oklahoma sent out a desperate plea for help, their message was clear: they had reached their limit with more puppies than they could possibly care for.

Local rescue partners joined efforts to launch a transport mission that would give dozens of dogs a second chance. Among them was a gentle mother and her ten tiny mix puppies—each beginning what would soon become a fight for their lives.

FIGHTING FOR THEIR LIVES

Shortly after arriving in Iowa, several of the puppies tested positive for parvovirus—a highly contagious and life-threatening disease. Their mother, protected by prior vaccinations, remained healthy, but her litter became gravely ill. Immediate and specialized care was their only chance.

The treatment was intense. Each puppy received monoclonal antibody therapy, fluids to fight dehydration, and medications to ease their symptoms. A potassium supplement was added to address complications from the illness.

Around-the-clock care ensured that every moment counted in their fight to recover.
